The lyrics "Once I was seven years old" has been repetitively heard all throughout the day of the past months but has one ever stopped to figure out what the song actually mean? 7 years is the hit song by Lukas Graham which, as of today(June 28, 2016), has hit the 11th spot in "Billboard's Top 100 Charts". Being a song that has the same ring with Five for Fighting's 100 years, 7 years talks about the life of a kid. It also shows the hardships and challenges to be faced in adolescence and the acceptance period in the elderly stage.
As a teenager myself, I would relate to this by heart. Why? Because I relate to the line "I always had that dream, like my daddy before me. So I started writing songs, I started writing stories. Something about that glory just always seemed to bore me. 'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me". You see, I am the type of person who always stay hidden under his/her own covers. I will never go out of my comfort zone unless extremely necessary and my true feelings would only stay true to people whom I truly know and truly love.
Now some would wonder why the song stops at age of 61, the answer to this lies within the artist himself. Lukas Graham has told reporters that his father only got to the age of 61. This song is a very saddening tale indeed. Now that I'm all done with my thoughts on Lukas Graham's hit song "7 years", comment your thoughts on his hit single too down on the box below!
